The Big Hit #9? (I can’t quite remember)

It’s that time of the year again where everybody feels like shit and doesn’t know what the hell they are doing at school. Is it bitter cold Canada that does this to us or is it just something that happens at this time of the year for all students?

School is probably the most miserable place to be right now. I wake up every morning thinking of an excuse to not go to school. There is nothing that drives me to attend class. You know how a lot of people go to school so that they can perhaps catch a glimpse of a girl/guy they might like? Well I don’t like saying this because I don’t wanna come off as being superficial, but… my god are some of the girls ugly. I’m not the most attractive guy out there so my sights aren’t set to a Kristin Kreuk level, but I still have my standards. This topic came up during a conversation I had with Alex on friday. Am I at the point where I should just start looking beyond superficial qualities and just go for anything that moves? (well not quite like that, but you know what I mean) Should I just go for someone that I can connect with on a friendship level even though I know they aren’t attractive or is that just forcing it?

Beyond the girl problems, I also have trouble associating myself with the people in my program. They laugh at stupidest things…

Teacher: Ok guys, select the ‘Dingbat’ font in photoshop…

Girl: Ahahah, he said Dingbat! It sounds like its a font where a bat

gets hit by a bell!

Rest of Class: Ahahaha THAT IS HIGHLARIOUS!!!!

I swear that is a transcript of what was said in my digital applications class. (besides the THAT IS HIGHLARIOUS part. Everyone was just laughing out loud)

Now back to laughing at stupid things. I admit I’m guilty of that at times, but these people just do it all the time, I simply cannot stand it. I mean, not everyone is like this as I have found a couple of good friends here but the majority of them are deuche bags.

The fact is, I feel like a drone right now. I go to school without a purpose. (well besides the handing in assignments part) I have no desire to socialize with these filthy meatbags in Graphic Design, and the girls are about attractive as Reggie Miller with blonde hair. Also, my classes are just too easy right now.

1. English (mandatory) – Miss Corry has trained me well. This class is a joke to pretty much everyone there.

2. Graphic Design – This is perhaps the only important class I have. I do real work here, so no complaining.

3. Drawing – Okay… another important class. I also do lots of work here.

4. Digital Applications – 6 hours a week of playing games on a G4. (more on this later)

5. Production – 2 hours a week of playing games on a G3.

6. Typography – 2 hours a week of playing games on a G4.

So lets see, I have a total of about 21 hours of class/week. Out of these, 6 of them are acutally important. That’s just pathetic. So with all this crap, what drives me to wake up every morning? Quite a lot actually, so that’s positive.

1. Friday night basketball at Oriole CC. This simply kicks ass cuz it gives me a chance to exercise and play some good ball. Thx Al.

2. Waking up every morning and seeing my baby safe in it’s cradle.

3. Going to work. :) So many little children… Huh, what? I wasn’t supposed to say that.

4. The O.C.

5. Smallville

6. Chappelle’s Show

7. NBA Basketball on DIGITAL CABLE. Mmm so many games, so little time.

8. Eating lunch at the deli beside the GO station every monday afternoon.

9. Playing videogames on the G3s and G4s instead of doing meaningless work in class. Let me tell ya, nothing sweeter than playing Duke3D on the school network with 6 other dudes not doing their work. (We also play UT, Quake 1&2, Doom 2, and Starcraft)

Phew, that was a long post. For next week I have a barrage of useless links to put up! Be prepared…

btw it turns out that I don’t have reading week with the rest of you University guys. I have it the week of the 23rd. That SUCKS.
